It's as if I'm talking to my future self. I didn't think I'd ever meet someone who would see eye-to-eye with me, thinking the likelihood was less than nil. For once I can take someone's advice on life without having any doubt to whether they understand the many different aspects of it. It's exciting in a way.

I will comment on the things you brought up at a later time. It is late in the day and my medicine seems to have worn off, meaning I have the temporary ability of happiness. I'll try to enjoy it while I can.

I'm with you, I lacked all interest at school in learning the majority of subjects as frankly I had no ambition to memorize all those useless facts that the majority would serve no actual purpose in day to day life. Even history back then seemed ridiculous cause it made no different what happened in the PAST, though my views of history have slightly changed now, back then I saw it as an attempt to brainwash me with facts of history making me believe all the men that died or fought for 'their' countries was something useful to know...when it only reflected a society that from a young age make their citizens value the concept of patriotism and taking pride in our countries (at least in Spain) which aren't really ours at all, merely invisible borders created by man around pieces of land and if you're unlucky enough to be born in the wrong side of the invisible border you are condemned to a life of misery and wars while the rest of the world looks on or supports your battle by sending in men to die in the name of those invisible non existent borders.

I think I value more my innocence than all my knowledge, ignorance is what makes you live in the dark, innocence means you only learn what will be useful someday but in the mean time enjoy the playful attitude of not taking life so seriously...cause lets face it, most true intellectuals are the most serious people you can come by. I gave up on my pursuit of knowledge long ago, before I thought I had to learn everything I could...now I just learn what will come in handy and only bits and pieces of everything, because even Socrates found, the more you know...the more you realize you didn't know, every year I look back and see how ignorant I was the year before and considering the amount of endless knowledge in the world, I think it would be like that your entire life.

Then theres the fact that all knowledge is biased to the perception of the people telling it, we have ideas of what a country is liked based on the "knowledge" we have gathered from word of mouth or what we read/see in the media...but all that is biased to the perceiver and transmitter of that knowledge onto other people.

Suicide is the something I wont ever get to understand, even in my darkest moments the idea of other people thinking such a thing was strange, I'd still hang on in there out of curiosity just to see how more horrible things could get. Wisdom lets you see that such an act would have consequences amongst your family and loved ones as you said, I once made the mistake of jokingly telling a suicidal person "suicide is the most sincere form of self criticism" thank god they didn't act upon it cause I wouldn't of forgiven myself.

I think your dislike of being dependent upon anyone but yourself is kind of like my need for perfectionism, it comes down to a matter of control... some feel the need of control more than others from the fear of uncertainty. But of course as with anything that has to do with social interactions, there's many things involved, I also enjoy the practical...if a relationship be love or friend wise isn't practical then it appears dull for me as I expect to give and gain something more than the mere need to feel 'understood' by someone through establishing a rapport.
Maybe I use my head more than my heart sometimes for those types of things, but I believe there should be a balance, using solely the heart to act ends up with problems caused by little common sense though with the best intentions...like they say, hell is paved with the good intentions of people.

It's quite impressive that you are only 15 :), you sound mature and rather smart for your age.
The drugs you're taking must be working very well, I don't know if I'd ever try them though lol cause if I start thinking even more than I do already it would prove quite difficult heheh. Indeed IQ tests are far from proving anything more than a superficial evaluation of a persons intelligence, partly cause it uses cognitive methods that not everyone has, dyslexics being a good example of intelligent individuals with poor IQ scores.

Hahah I think therefore I suffer? (if my memory serves me right with the meaning of Cogito ergo doleo). Whenever I got into trouble my Latin professor would say "Matty tu semper in excremento, sole profundum qui variat" (Matty you're always in shit, it's only the depth which varies), I guess its better than "Antiquis temporibus, nati tibi similes in rupibus ventosissimis exponebantur ad necem" (In the good old days, children like you were left to perish on windswept crags). :P

I despise the misconception that academic performance equals intelligence. The only thing it is representative of is the size of your short term memory cache and your motivation. Not to mention your ability to cheat/copy. My grades aren't too hot, but that is only because I have no drive in life. Except maybe the pursuit of knowledge.

I don't typically prefer to comment on subjects of wisdom since it requires that I explain myself which cannot be done easily. Well that is unless your an intellectual, then there is just an unsaid mutual understanding. Though I CAN explain myself when questioned.

Ahhhh, innocence. I used to wish that I could go back to those carefree times of my life. But then I realized that I would rather possess the knowledge I have now than to be living in the dark.

I view suicide as a wonderful escape from life, destined for those who are weak and innocent. To me life is the ultimate "bitch". I may not like it, but that doesn't mean I'm just going to call it quits. I have a family. I know that if I were to die, many people would be greatly effected in a negative way. Sure it doesn't make a difference once your dead, but I feel it is an obligation that regardless of whether your family is alive or not that you should live. At some point a woman nurtured you in a womb. To me that is reason alone to live.

I wish I wasn't tied down by my social relationships. I dislike being dependent upon anyone other than myself, since I've learned that with relations comes obligatory responsibilities. That if one does not for fill, the social contract is disengaged (not always the case e.g. family). To me it's not even worth the hassle. I'd rather have a relationship where both parties can walk away after each engagement and feel as though they have benefited from it.

I am currently 15 years old. I'll turn 16 in about a couple months or so. I went from being your typical dumb ass to someone who cannot relate to his peers, all in the course of about 1.5 years. Due to the use of prescribed drugs that boost my mental processing speed. My IQ literally went from 105 to 130. Though as some of you are aware, is not an accurate indicator of my intelligence since it is not something you can place a numerical value on. It just so happens it's accurate MOST of the time, which does not apply to higher IQ's. Considering my father has an IQ of 140 yet is lacking in wisdom department, which to me declassifies him from the label of intelligence. I believe it to be a combination of both knowledge available and wisdom gained.

"Cogito ergo doleo" <--------- Story of my (current) life.

Kind words, thank you.Actually the remark I made at the start over the article were more a reflection of my own lack of wisdom lol, I'm quite known for being sarcastic much of the time but it says a lot about my character. Sarcasm is another example of intelligent lack of wisdom, it's finding and exposing other peoples faults while wittily trying to appear pompous/superior to them.
Take tv shows like House, Frasier or Family Guy, one of the characters makes a sarcastic comment while we all laugh because we realize what they are saying is true which makes us feel as intelligent as them since we understand it and find it funny the victim of the joke is often ignorant/oblivious to that observation.

In fact many forms of humor are based on superiority and mockery, each culture has their own style, the British liked sarcasm and satire, Americans are more the type of joke tellers...but in their jokes the victims of the punch line are people of importance/authority, people they feel jealous of or their enemies. Children making the teachers looks stupid, husbands making fun of wives and vice versa, Irish making fun of the Scots, they also find self ridicule very amusing. The Germans on the other hand find people who trip and fall or suffer some type of klutzy (word sounds oddly German) accident to be hilarious.

It's gone on for centuries, in the times of Queen Victoria they would put the mentally ill in cages and have the public go watch the crazy in action as if it were a Zoo throwing objects at them. A couple centuries ago they also made fun of little people/midgets or other physical deformed by creating those Side Show Freaks type of vagabond attractions.

People like Aristotle and his mentor Plato realized this 2,500 years ago as Plato once declared in one of his Philebus that laughter was a form of Malice referring to it as: "The roar of Triumph in an ancient jungle of duel".

In fact many forms of humor are based on superiority and mockery, each culture has their own style, the British liked sarcasm and satire, Americans are more the type of joke tellers…but in their jokes the victims of the punch line are people of importance/authority, people they feel jealous of or their enemies.

People like Aristotle and his mentor Plato realized this 2,500 years ago as Plato once declared in one of his Philebus that laughter was a form of Malice referring to it as: “The roar of Triumph in an ancient jungle of duel”. Another great intelligent figure that didn't appear to happy but maybe this explains why.
