Yin Yang A Yin Without A Yang Is Like Trying To Walk Forward Using Only Your Left Foot
In my last article there was a comment asking why I use a modified version of the Yin Yang for the logo of this site, I’m often asked why I like the symbol so here it is. In short, I admire the perfect equilibrium of opposites it has. Maybe it’s because I suffer from C.D.O.P, it’s like O.C.P.D except in the right alphabetical order =P .

Over the years I’ve heard so many different interpretations for what it means to each individual; Good/Bad, Heart/Head, Love/Hate, Day/Night, Male/Female…

It’s remarkable cause they are all correct, but the Yin Yang hides some very insightful meaning underneath it.

Quick, Quick, The Meaning Of Life Discovered!

What Is The Meaning of Life Quick, Quick, The Meaning Of Life Discovered!
There once was a little boy whose mom told him the key to life was happiness. When he was in school one day the teacher asked the students to write down what they wanted to be when they grew up. Some kids wrote down Fireman or Policeman, some Actors, others Lawyers or Astronauts but he wrote, “When I grow up I want to be Happy”. The Teacher told him he didn’t understand the assignment. He told her she didn’t understand life.

Every now and again I find myself listening or reading people’s opinions and debates about the meaning of life, the purpose…it’s bound to happen, specially if you interact a lot with intellectuals, curious minds or enjoy reading about the history of philosophy. It must be one of the oldest questions in existence, in fact it quite possibly played a role in the creation of religions; “Why are we here?”, “What are we meant to do in this life? I feel lost”, “Where do we come from?”, “What makes me so deserving to have been born? is this life like a qualification test to be considered for a job after death? follow the 10 commanding sinless instructions and I’m accepted or punished?”.

I can’t help but laugh sometimes, asking “Why am I alive?” seems like a question coming from those who are bored with life, the miracle of life with all it’s beauty and interesting things isn’t enough and we want more?. Do you ever go to the doctor and say; “Doctor, why am I healthy?”, or do you only go you’re sick?. “Why am I alive?”.

Life Is A Sexually Transmitted Disease With The Fatality Rate Of 100%

death rides a red tricycle Life Is A Sexually Transmitted Disease With The Fatality Rate Of 100%

What do you think your birth certificate is? It’s an apology letter to your parents from the condom factory…

Today while waiting in the Doctors lounge with my little bro as we prepared to get out post-travel checkups, everything seemed to go well at first, I was amusing myself with the other patients by asking them if they found the idea of the whole place being called a Medical PRACTISE a bit unsettling when you’d imagine they’d already have practised enough at Medical School, needles to say I think I was the life of the “sick party”, but on our way to the Doctors office I looked outside the window, and what I saw was a luxurious car that had a bumper sticker which read “Death is Hereditary”, “Can it be my doctors car?” I asked myself, and if so, “should I leave my brothers and my own life in this genetically pessimistic conformist of an individual?” I’m known for my personal distrust with Doctors and medicines so I think the face I had throughout the whole consult speaks for itself…

Why is there such a fear of death?

Beauty LIES In The Eyes Of The Beholder

November 14th, 2009

Beauty LIES In The Eyes Of The BeholderLast night like many other nights, I climbed on to the roof to watch the stars after a cloudy day, as I lay there observing the firmament…a little thought caught my attention.I wondered if anyone had ever looked up at the universe and started comparing which stars were right and brighter and which ones were wrong and uglier, or had even had the urge to rearrange the constellations because in that precise night, he didn’t like the angle they were in.Silly huh?

Yet we do that in our daily lives all the time…, we compare people with qualities that don’t really exist, the same way we we attribute the quality of brightness to the starts when in fact they all shine the same and some only appear brighter in comparison to others due to their proximity to Earth in contrast with the rest, we admire some people for their beauty when the truth is…their beauty only depends on who they are surrounded by to compare them to, and trying to rearrange the constellations angle sounds a lot like a human civilization that is always changing its perspectives, where 140 years ago treated blank people as slaves and now have one as the President.

So if our perception of comparison influences us that much, what else does it affect?

Creative Minds Are Rebels Who Survived The Trauma of Education

Che Guevara Creative Minds Are Rebels Who Survived The Trauma of Education
In my previous article, I wrote about how being serious and thinking logically together with following rules and traditions provided you with peace/security of mind at the cost of limiting your imagination and creativity, but it also made me realize most innovative playful revolutionary thinkers…were considered rebels of their time because they thought or acted differently than the rules or tradition demanded, from Elvis Presley and his “immoral” way of dancing to Edgar Allan Poe and his “grotesque” writing style, the majority of people who have standed out in their field throughout history have done so by doing just that, gaining others attention by behaving differently than they were expected to or than the people they were surrounded by, and who are the most notorious rebels in our culture? Teenagers.
